Courtesy National Weather Service

The National Weather Service (NWS) has released its latest maps with 4-5 inches of snow for most areas, including most of Montgomery County, Howard County, Loudoun County, and Frederick County.

There is a Winter Storm Warning in effect for Frederick County and half of Loudoun County and a Winter Storm Advisory for Montgomery, Howard, half of Loudoun, Fairfax, DC, and Prince George’s.

Areas like DC, most of Fairfax County, Prince George’s County, and parts of Montgomery and Howard counties are in the 3-4 inch range. The “Reasonable Worst Case Scenario” map (seen below) shows up to 8 inches across part of the area. The “Low End Amount” map (also seen below) shows 1-2 inches area-wide.

The local affiliates of the major networks have released their maps, and they can be seen here. Some are going with 2-4 inches across the area while others have 4-6+ inches. We’ve seen numbers tweaked in the hours approaching the storm, so we’ll continue to monitor.
