Police Respond to Shooting at Glenmont Metro

Montgomery County Police responded to a shooting at the Glenmont Metro station on Friday, February 16.

According to police, “At approximately 4:12 p.m., MCP officers responded to the Glenmont Metro Station in the 12500 block of Georgia Avenue for the report of shooting. We are coordinating with Metro Transit Police Department. More information will be released as it becomes available.”

According to public safety reported Cordell Pugh, a man shot in the lower extremity and transported to an area Trauma Center.

The Metro Transit Police Department will be handling this investigation. At 6:05pm, they communicated the following: “MTPD responded to Glenmont for person on top floor of parking garage with a NLT gunshot wound. Investigation underway. Incident appears isolated. Law enforcement partners engaged and investigators are processing the scene. Please call 202-962-2121 to report any information.”
