A traffic incident has closed all southbound lanes of MD-97 (Georgia Ave) at MD-182 (Layhill Rd), according to a severe traffic alert issued by Alert Montgomery.

Montgomery County Police arrested two men after officers allegedly found each carrying a loaded handgun during a traffic stop in Glenmont earlier this month.
A man is being held without bond after Montgomery County police say officers recovered an illegally possessed handgun with an extended magazine and suspected drugs during a traffic stop on Georgia Avenue in the Glenmont area.
Montgomery County Police 4th District officers responded at approximately 2:11 p.m. Wednesday to the 2300 block of Glenmont Circle in Glenmont for a reported shooting.
