Glenmont Express Shuttle Extended Through September 30 as County Weighs Long-Term Service

Montgomery County’s Ride On Glenmont Express Shuttle will continue operating through Wednesday, September 30, as transportation officials monitor ridership to determine whether the service should continue long term.

The free shuttle launched in response to Metro’s partial Red Line closure from July 6 through September 6. It provides direct service between Milestone Park-and-Ride, Shady Grove Metro Station, and Glenmont Metro Station.

Following community feedback gathered through the Glenmont Express Survey, the Montgomery County Department of Transportation’s Ride On transit division decided to extend the service through the end of the month.

The shuttle operates every 40 minutes, Monday through Friday, from 6-9am and 3-7pm. A decision on whether to continue service beyond September 30 has not yet been announced.

The Glenmont Express Shuttle is free to ride. The County has also implemented a free-fare policy across all Ride On, Ride On extRa, Ride On Flex, and Flash buses.
