Owner and Executive Chef of Tavira to Retire; Restaurant to Remain Open Under New Ownership


Duarte Rebolo, owner and executive chef of Tavira (8401 Connecticut Ave) in Chevy Chase, has announced he stepping down/retiring after 23 years.

The restaurant, which specializes in Portuguese and Mediterranean cuisine, will remain open under new ownership.

“To our family, friends and loyal patrons, It is with bittersweet emotions that I announce the retirement as exc.chef/owner of TAVIRA restaurant. This decision does not come lightly, but I’m thankful to have hade the pleasure and honor of serving our community for 23 years.
I’m honored to have been a part of so many milestones in each of your lives…My heart goes out to everyone who supported me over the years.

I hope you will continue to visit TAVIRA, as our doors will remain open under the new management/ownership. Our existing STAFF will remain in front of house as well as back.
