Pedestrian Struck and Killed By Train Matches Description of Man Who Stabbed Woman in Gaithersburg Thursday Night


Detectives from the Gaithersburg Police Department – Investigative Section are investigating a stabbing that occurred in the 500 block of Girard Street in Gaithersburg around 9pm. According to police, the suspect matches the description of a pedestrian who was struck and killed by a train on Thursday night.

Per Gaithersburg Police, “On Thursday, February 22, 2024 at approximately 8:59 p.m., officers from the Gaithersburg Police Department and Montgomery County Police Department responded to 500 block of Girard Street for the report of a stabbing that just occurred. Officers located a 51-years-old female victim suffering from lacerations. Officers provided first-aid until Fire and Rescue personnel arrived and transported her to an area hospital in critical condition. The suspect, an adult male, fled the scene prior to police arrival.

At 9:37 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of E. Diamond Avenue and Railroad Street for the report of a pedestrian struck. The description of the pedestrian matched that of the suspect involved in the stabbing.
