Benjamin Banneker Middle School Boys Basketball Completes Back to Back Undefeated Seasons

The Benjamin Banneker Middle School Boys Basketball team, Benjamin Banneker Bobcats, concluded their second undefeated season in a row on Thursday, February 22 with a 52-28 win over their neighboring school, Briggs Chaney Middle School.

Coached by Jason Miller, the Bobcats entered this season with an immense amount of pressure to attempt to repeat and keep the undefeated streak going. The Bobcats did not disappoint. Led by our 8th grade guard, and two forwards, The Bobcats completed the 6-0 season to push the Banneker win streak to 15 wins in a row dating back to February of 2022.

The undefeated Bobcats toughest matchup this season came in the first game of the season against Francis Scott Key MS. The Bobcats jumped out to a 16 point lead after the first 2 quarters. Key stormed back in the second half erasing that 16 point deficit to take the lead with 11 seconds left in the game. However, the Bobcats would not go down without a fight. With 6 seconds left in the game, a Banneker 7th grader, hit a game-winning 3 pointer to put the Bobcats up by 2. The Bobcats would go on to win 35-34. The Bobcats would go on to win the remaining 5 games all by double-digits.
