Jonathan Henderson, an eighth grader at Robert Frost Middle School in Rockville, was recently accepted for an international orchestra summer camp and will perform at Carnegie Hall.
MCPS shared that during the program, which is free and will run from July 20-Aug. 8, he will work closely with top players from American orchestras and conservatories for intensive training and performance opportunities.
According to MCPS, “Jonathan began learning a string instrument a little more than a year ago during a CARES Act-funded summer school program. He now plays the viola in Orchestra 3 and the clarinet in Band 3, and was selected for this year’s All-State Orchestra.”
