Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a vehicle fire between University Blvd. and New Hampshire Ave on the inner loop of I-495 shortly before 3:30pm on Thursday afternoon.
According to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, the fire was quickly extinguished. As of now there is no word on what caused the fire, but it was visible to many readers from the campus of Blair High School earlier this afternoon.
The Metropolitan Area Transportation Operations Coordination (MATOC) Program tweeted that delays extend approximately six miles, but that all lanes were opened in a 4pm update.
