2024 ‘Game Changer’ Conference For Young Male Students Will Take Place April 20


The Spring 2024 Game Changer conference for young male students in grades 4-12 will be held on Saturday April 20, at the Universities at Shady Grove, 8am-2pm. It will be accompanied by an essay competition, with further details below:

This year’s spring conference theme encourages students to see themselves as competitors in life’s big game, where trying hard, being smart, and playing well lead to winning their dreams. Some of the conference sessions include life skills stations, panel conversations, a STEM exposure experience and a parent advocacy academy roundtable.

To foster academic excellence, the conference will also host a student essay competition. Participants are encouraged to submit a 300-word essay answering the essay theme question: “Being a Competitor is a Game Changer: How will you Compete to Win and Own your Future?” Essay submissions are due by Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at GC Essay Contest SubmissionPrizes will be awarded to winners in each age division.

The Universities at Shady Grove is located at 9630 Gudelsky Drive in Rockville. Transportation may be available through MCPS from your area. Registration closes Wednesday, April 3. Spaces are limited.
