Traffic Enforcement Initiative Over St. Patrick’s Day Weekend Leads to 129 Citations and 13 DUI Arrests

On Monday, Montgomery County Police announced the results of a traffic enforcement initiative that occurred over the weekend.

Per the news release: During the St. Patrick’s Day weekend, Friday, March 15 to Sunday, March 17, 2024, twelve officers from the Montgomery County Police Department and Troopers from the Maryland State Police conducted 82 traffic stops, resulting in 129 traffic citations, 64 traffic warnings, 21 safety repair orders, one criminal arrest and 13 DUI arrests.

**It should be noted that the above arrests include only those arrests made by saturation patrol detail officers and do not include the additional arrests made by patrol officers in the performance of their duties. Therefore, the overall number of DUI arrests made by officers during this time period is higher.
