Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to two collisions on I-270 that affected both northbound and southbound lanes in the same area (near Exit 9) at approximately 6:30am on Saturday morning.
According to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, a vehicle hit the cement median wall on northbound I-270 causing debris to go into the southbound I-270 lanes, which resulted in another collision. Lanes on both sides were temporarily blocked.
