25 Members of The MCFRS Technical Rescue Team Assist in Washington County Building Collapse

Assistant Chief David Pazos of Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) noted that 25 members of the MCFRS Technical Rescue Team (TRT)  were called to Hancock, MD in Washington County to assist with a building collapse.

According to Asst. Chief Pazos, Washington County 911 was notified via radio around 10:36 am on Monday morning of two floors that had collapsed into the basement in a vacated building at 55 W. Main St. in Hancock. At 11:15am, approximately 25 members of MCFRS TRT were sent to assist Washington County.

According to the Hancock Volunteer Fire Company Facebook page, the Fire Chief advised of possible entrapment inside the building. Main St. was shut down at Church and Fulton Streets and units remain on the scene.
