80-Year-Old Spin Instructor, Bernie Greene, Teaches His Last Class At LA Fitness Rockville As The Gym Prepares to Close Permanently

Earlier this month we let you know that LA Fitness at 11416 Rockville Pike Suite A in Rockville will permanently close on Monday, April 1. On Saturday, WUSA9 highlighted 80-year-old spin instructor Bernie Greene teaching his final spin class at the gym. The full video can be seen below.

According to a representative from the gym, the gym will officially close on April 1st and exiting members will have their memberships transferred to its Silver Spring location. LA Fitness currently operates over 700 gyms worldwide, and has additional Montgomery County locations in Aspen Hill. Gaithersburg, Silver Spring and Wheaton.

Greene taught his final spin class at the Rockville LA Fitness on Saturday, a skill he picked up when he started taking spin classes himself 19 years ago at the age of 61. According to the WUSA9 video, which can be seen below, Greene is now working on a memoir highlighting his clients through the years.
