
$37 million first phase of the Westbard Square redevelopment project has signed new tenants with a few businesses already open in the 23-acre project at Westbard Ave. and Ridgefield Rd. Overall, the development will include 148,000SF of retail as well as Kensington Senior Living– a 116-unit assisted living facility that is currently under construction.
Already open in the center are Bowlero, Kumon Math & Reading center, Citgo gas station, a new Giant Food store, Voorthuis Opticians, and Westbard Barber Shop. Coming soon are:
- District Dabblelab: An art studio space that “seeks to inspire imagination, develop skills, spark curiosity, and promote creativity”
- Oak Barrel & Vine: Montgomery County’s Department of Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS) “upgraded retail concept”
- Piccoli Piatti: Piccoli Piatti Pizzeria features a hybrid of Neapolitan and American style pizza called Neo Neapolitan pizza. Additional menu items include small and shared plates – Piccoli (small) Piatti (plates) – such as Panzanella salad, house made spreads, grilled and fried calamari, and house made desserts.
