A Montgomery County resident said he had a vision that he was going to win a big prize playing Powerball with a specific set of numbers. He was correct, as he won $50,000 in the April 3 drawing, but he did it with a completely different set of numbers.
The Clarksburg man bought a $6 Powerball ticket for the drawing with three lines. Two lines were quick-picks and he filled out the other line with numbers that came into his mind. The irony is that none of the numbers in his premonition won but he matched four out of the five white balls and the Powerball on a quick-pick line. He won a $50,000 third-tier prize! “I just had a reflection that I was going to win,” he explained.
The small-business owner purchased his lucky ticket at 7-Eleven #42092 located at 22702 Gosnell Farm Drive in Boyds. He returned to the Montgomery County retailer the day after the drawing to scan his ticket and saw that he won. The happy husband was able to keep calm in the store and did not tell anyone about his big win for a few hours.
“I went to the gym and then went home and told my wife,” he said.
The big winner plans to spend his prize on his children and on some home renovations.
Meanwhile, Powerball continues to roll! The estimated jackpot annuity for the Saturday, April 6 drawing is $1.3 billion with an estimated cash value is $608.9 million (before taxes). This is the fourth largest jackpot in the Powerball history and the eighth largest in U.S. lottery history.
