Update: Man Killed After Being Struck by Metro Train in North Bethesda

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to the North Bethesda Metro Station (formerly White Flint) at approximately 8pm on Sunday, April 14, for the report of a pedestrian struck by a train.

According to a Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) spokesperson, “At approximately 8 PM last night, we received a report of a person struck by a train at the North Bethesda Station. Emergency personnel responded, however, there were no signs of life and the individual was pronounced deceased.

Based on the preliminary investigation, the adult male trespassed, walking beyond the end gate and intentionally placed himself in the path of the train. Red Line trains temporarily bypassed the station due to the emergency response and shuttle buses were provided for affected customers. Service resumed to the station just before 9 PM.”
