Roberto Clemente Middle School in Germantown is one of many MCPS schools that recently held (or soon will hold) some form of a Career Day. During the RCMS College and Career Community Day on Thursday, April 11, school leaders dedicated the entire school day to college and career readiness activities to educate and inspire students about their futures. The event included The MoCoShow’s “Mr. MoCo” as a guest speaker.
The school hosted more than 40 special guests and organizations from the community during a fair. In classrooms, students engaged in college and career-related activities such as practicing job interviewing skills, virtually touring local colleges, exploring MCPS high school programs and opportunities, and engaging with college and career self-discovery tools.
Many of the guests also held breakout small group sessions to discuss their career journey with students. Per MCPS, “Preparing students for college and career is key part of the MCPS strategic, Board priorities and the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future.”
Mr. MoCo shared, “Today I spoke with students at Roberto Clemente Middle School in Germantown on the school’s career day. The kids were awesome and asked great questions.”
