Expect the wind chill to be below 32 degrees. Wear layers if you go outside. Take extra precautions if you spend significant time outdoors”

A Hypothermia Alert is issued for the County when forecasted temperatures, and/or wind chill, in at least part of the County fall below 32 degrees creating a hazardous situation in which hypothermia and frostbite are likely.

Freeze Warnings and Frost Advisories are also in effect for portions of the area from 2am tonight through 8am Monday morning. While the Freeze Warnings are a little further out, the Frost Advisories cover NW MoCo, Frederick, Loudoun, part of Howard, Carroll counties and more. Per the NWS, “Take the necessary actions to protect your plants or pets.” Frost could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered.

Tenperatures are expected to reach the lower 60s later in Monday with highs in the 60s for most of the upcoming work week. We are expected to warm up again the following week.
