Money, an American brand and a personal finance website that was formerly a monthly magazine first published by Time Inc. (1972-2018), has released its list of “50 Best Places to Live.” Frederick is the only city in Maryland to make the list.
Per Money, “this year’s ‘Best Places to Live’ list celebrates cities and towns where a thriving economy meets affordability, diversity and an exceptional quality of life. Backed by rigorous research and data-driven analysis, these 50 places are the blueprint for the future.”
Per the article, “Frederick has a flourishing economy — thanks, in large part, to its proximity to the nation’s capital and to Baltimore (both about 50 miles away) and the large employers that call the city home (like Fort Detrick, a U.S. Army installation, and the Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research). Over the next four years, Frederick’s job market is expected to grow 10%; one of the highest-anticipated spurts of growth in the country.”
