Thanks to the generosity of hundreds of people in the community during the 2023-2024 campaign, MCPS provided more than 10,000 students in need with backpacks and supplies through the GIVE BACKpacks campaign. Now, the 13th annual GIVE BACKpacks campaign to purchase backpacks and school supplies for MCPS students has begun.
For as little as $20, you can provide a student with a backpack filled with supplies including, paper, crayons, pencils/pens, a pencil sharpener, binders, folders, and more.
According to MCPS, More than 70,000 students are living in poverty and will need help accessing school supplies to be ready to learn at the start of school. MCPS places orders throughout the summer with a goal of providing as many students as possible with a backpack and school supplies at the start of the school year. June, July, and August are critical months to fundraise and place orders.
