Chipotle to Take Over Longtime Vacant and Former KFC/Taco Bell Space in Burtonsville Crossing

Back in January we let you know that Chipotle signed on as a tenant at the renovated Burtonsville Crossing shopping center. The fast food restaurant will be joining the longstanding Burger King and the coming soon Moby Dick and Eggspectation at the shopping center and is listed as taking the longtime vacant, former KFC/Taco Bell space.

KFC/Taco Bell closed approximately 14 years ago and was painted with a new color scheme soon after, which prompted plenty of speculation about if something new was coming. Now it appears Chipotle will be moving in, but construction has not yet started.

Chipotle recently opened a digital kitchen less than 3 miles away at Briggs Chaney MarketPlace and has an existing location about five miles away at the Orchard Center on Cherry Hill Rd. Due to the location, it’s unclear whether the Burtonsville Crossing restaurant will be a digital kitchen or regular Chipotle.
