
The City of Gaithersburg has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for the 46th consecutive year.
Per Gaithersburg: The City’s comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023, was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program. Among the criteria is a commitment to present the financial information in a constructive and transparent way and to motivate community stakeholders to read and clearly understand the report.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. “This award continues to recognize our commitment to transparency and our high level of service to Gaithersburg residents,” said City Manager Tanisha Briley. “It also reflects the tremendous efforts of the dedicated staff in our Department of Finance and Administration.”
