
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) and HazMat units are responding to the 5600blk of Spruce Tree Ave, off of Old Georgetown Rd., in Bethesda for a 2 inch gas line struck in front of a home.
According to Assistant Chief David Pazos, units are starting to evacuate the area and are checking air conditions until Washington Gas arrives. There are no injuries.
11:07am update: “MCFRS crews unable to control gas in street. The area, including 5600/5612 Spruce Tree, and the YMCA at 9401 Old Georgetown Rd, have been metered and evacuated as a precaution. Traffic in the area is closed.”
