Family Displaced Following Father’s Day Fire

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a fire at a single family home on the 13400blk Coachlamp Ln. off of Layhill Rd on Sunday evening.

According to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer,  there was fire and smoke showing upon arrival. A grill caught the siding on fire and it  extended into the house.

In an update provided at 6:38pm, Piringer stated that the origin/cause of the fire was the improper disposal of hot ashes/coals placed onto wood on the deck, which is tied the nearby siding. The family, which includes four adults and one dog, has been displaced, but there were no injuries. Photo courtesy MCRFS.
