Residents and businesses on the 7600 block of Maple Avenue in Takoma Park are advised that there is an ongoing water leak in the area. The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) was onsite this past Tuesday and successfully repaired a broken water main. However, a subsequent leak in a valve was identified and needs to be addressed.
Takoma Park Police has shared the following, “WSSC has scheduled a return visit to repair the valve leak on Tuesday, July 2, or Wednesday, July 3. This repair will necessitate a temporary water shutoff for a portion of the day. WSSC is taking steps to provide ample notice to affected residents and to avoid performing the work during the extremely hot days forecasted for this week.
To minimize disruption, the repair work will be conducted at night. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.” Featured photo shows 7600 block of Maple Ave, courtesy Google Maps.
