Alert Montgomery has issued a traffic advisory on Friday morning: “Northbound I-270 is closed between Montrose Road and West Montgomery Avenue due to a traffic collision. Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route. Expect significant delays. For more information, contact Maryland State Police.”
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer shared that MCFRS responded to a crash between Falls Rd and Rt 28 shortly before 5am. The collision occurred in the main lanes and involved three vehicles.
Per Piringer, “one vehicle was on fire with two people trapped, likely DOA (dead on arrival).” The fire was extinguished and one patient from the other vehicle was being evaluated for possible transport to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
