Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a precautionary second alarm fire on Broadbirch Dr. and Longfield Dr. (new address) in Calverton, near White Oak, for four separate fires on the roof of a residential high rise that’s under construction.
According to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, smoke was initially visible from the roof of the building. There were four separate fires on the roof deck of the building that’s currently under construction with considerable wind gusts at approximately 3:30pm.
Construction materials were involved, but quickly extinguished by responding crews. The fire was confined to the roof area with the cause not yet determined. Photos by MCFRS.
