Dale Earnhardt Jr. Shouts Out Butler’s Orchard Pickles as “Most Delicious in the Country”

NASCAR’s 15-time Most Popular Driver and winner of two Daytona 500s, Dale Earnhardt Jr., hosts his very own podcast– The Dale Jr Download on Dirty Mo Media. He recently ended an episode by shouting out MoCo’s very own Butler’s Orchard in Germantown (video below).

“I’m hold in my hand, no question, the most delicious pickle in the entire country. It’s from a place called Butler’s Orchard. Garlic and Sea Salt Dilled pickles.” Dale Jr. said. “These people haven’t given me a dime to pitch these pickles, but they are so freaking good” he continued. He explains that a friend of his who visits the area brings him the pickles every time he can since he’s unable to order them. “Unreal. Not spicy. Very good.”

Butler’s Orchard is located at 22222 Davis Mill Rd. in Germantown. The Farm Market started under an apple tree behind the log house selling peaches. Later, it moved to a former chicken house that still stands on the property as a garage. The red barn was built in 1964 and over the years they increased the variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables they grew and sold. In the 1970’s, Butler’s began selling additional products in the Farm Market, including preserves, local honey, gourmet condiments, seasonal decorative items, cider, and more. In 1993, they outgrew their original red barn and expanded the Farm Market to the current facility that you can visit today.

Dale Jr. has more ties to the area, as he’s a huge Washington Commanders fan, too. He has stated that on his 9th birthday, in 1983, his mother bought him a Washington Redskins uniform that made him a fan of the team for life. “As I got older, my loyalty to the Redskins thickened. In my eyes Joe Gibbs could do no wrong. My role models weren’t holding steering wheels and mashing gears on Sunday. They wore burgundy and gold with names like Art Monk and Darrell Green” he said in an ESPN interview.
