The World Takes Notice as MoCo’s Quincy Wilson Looks to Qualify For the Olympics

Quincy Wilson’s parents relocated from Virginia to Gaithersburg to that he can attend the Bullis School in Potomac. Now, Wilson looks to qualify for the Olympics after breaking the under-18 world record for the 400-meter dash that stood for 42 years with a time of 44.66 seconds. He broke it twice in two days

The All-Met Athlete of the Year by the Washington Post recently completed his sophomore year at Bullis, earning straight A’s. Later today (Monday), Wilson will run in a race that gives him the chance to qualify for the Paris Olympics. The world, including some very big names, has taken notice:

Robert Griffin III (former NFL quarterback and Texas state record holder in various track events) wrote, “16 YEAR OLD Quincy Wilson just broke his own U18 World Record and High School record in the 400m with a 44.59. WHAT??!?! 2 World Records by Quincy in 2 days.”

Deion Sanders (Former NFL All-Pro, MLB Player, and Head Football coach at Colorado) wrote, “God bless this young man Quincy Wilson. You are awesome!!!!!!”

Tyreek Hill (NFL Wide Receiver) wrote, “I don’t see enough people talking Quincy Wilson , bro 16 and out there competing.”
