2024 Public and Private Fireworks Displays (June 28th through July 12th)

Below is a list of public and private fireworks displays that will take place between June 29 and July 12 in Montgomery County:

June 29th: Gaithersburg: Summerfest at Boher Park  (506 S Frederick Ave)
“Celebrate America’s independence with friends & family at SummerFest, Gaithersburg’s illuminating summer festival on the expansive grounds of Bohrer Park at Summit Hall Farm. The free event takes place on SATURDAY, JUNE 29, 2024, from 6 to 11 p.m. The festival features live music, food trucks, local breweries, family-friendly activities, all leading up to a spectacular fireworks display & SummerGlo After Party.

SummerFest kicks off at 6 p.m. with The District, one of DC’s top dance bands. Enjoy delicious offerings from food and local craft beverage vendors. ATMs available onsite.

The Water Park & Miniature Golf Course open at 11 a.m. and the Skate Park opens at Noon. Note that the Water Park will be open for the exclusive use of City residents & aquatics members only on June 29. There are entrance fees for the Water Park & Miniature Golf Course. The air-conditioned Activity Center will serve as a comfort station with indoor bathrooms & space to relax up until 9 p.m.

Guests are welcome to bring their own food, or purchase a meal and treats from a variety of vendors & food trucks. Coolers are allowed, but for safety reasons, personal grills, outside alcoholic beverages, glass containers, weapons (real or facsimile), and fireworks of any kind (including sparklers) are strictly prohibited. Pets are not recommended due to crowd & noise issues. If brought, they must be leashed. Skateboards, scooters, rollerblades & bikes will be confined to the Skate Park. Smoking & vaping are not permitted in public spaces in Gaithersburg.

July 4th: Rockville: Independence Day Celebration (1800 Piccard Dr)
Rockville’s Independence Day Celebration is held annually at Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park in King Farm. This year the celebration takes place from 7pm until 10pm.

“This location offers wonderful spectator viewing, and ample and convenient parking for the 4th of July festivities. Enjoy live music by Uncle Jesse and a 20-minute fireworks display.” Additional info below, courtesy of the City of Rockville:

Free parking is available in lots along Shady Grove and Gaither Roads, as well as on Piccard Drive. These lots are conveniently located near the event site. Attendees are encouraged to use Route 355, Gude Drive, and Shady Grove Road to access these parking lots. Once near the event site, follow event signage, not your GPS.

 

 

July 4th: Germantown: Germantown Glory (18041 Central Park Circle)
Germantown Glory will kick off on July 4 at 7 p.m. with a concert by Central City Orchestra. The fireworks displays will begin at approximately 9:15 p.m. The timing of the fireworks may change due to weather conditions. 

July 4th: Town of Poolesville and UMCVFD Independence Day celebration (Soccer Fields off of Hughes Road in Poolesville)

The Upper Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Department and Town of Poolesville will hold its annual Independence Day celebration with fireworks on Thursday, July 4th. The event will take place at the Soccer Fields off of Hughes Road in Poolesville. “Join us for an evening of celebration, fireworks, live entertainment and great food on Thursday, the 4th of July! Parking gates open at 5:00, parking fee is $10 (in Cash, please) per car. For everyone’s enjoyment and safety, please refrain from bringing alcoholic beverages or pets onto the grounds. Front row Box Seats are available. For information call 301 972-8719.”

July 6th: Kensington/Wheaton: Mid-County Sparkles (11201 Newport Mill Road)
Mid-County Sparkles, one of Montgomery County’s Independence Day celebrations, will take place on Saturday, July 6. Live music begins at 6 pm with performances by Joe Falero and Downtown Sound and fireworks begin at 9:15 pm.  The only parking available on-site will be for individuals with disabilities. Free parking and shuttle service will be provided starting at 5:30 p.m., from Westfield Wheaton, located at 11160 Veirs Mill Road. Event goers who park at Westfield Wheaton prior to 5:30 p.m. may be subject to towing by the property owner. Follow the directional signs for event parking and shuttles.
