In a digital world, the otherwise technology-forward local public school system has lagged in the timesheet department– requiring employees to fill out physical timesheets and leave requests. Those days now appear numbered, according to the latest issue of MCPS’ “IT Wire” newsletter.
The school system announced that it is implementing “a new Oracle Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM) solution that will replace our current Human Resources Information System (HRIS) platform to offer a more modern and efficient system for our district.” The new system will launch in December 2024 and offers the following, per MCPS:

an all-inclusive self-service portal for employees to complete hire-to-retire and business activities

online timesheets and leave requests

choice of 12-month extended pay for 10- and 11-month employees (available July 2025)

a responsive user design accessible anywhere and anytime
