Montgomery County Police has released additional information regarding the death of Osmar Daniel Chavarria, who was killed after an incident involving the contractor bucket he was in making contact with power lines on Tuesday, July 9 in Ashton.

Per MCPD: “Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating the death of 39-year-old Osmar Daniel Chavarria, which occurred in the 200 block of Ashton Road.
On Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at approximately 11:59 a.m., 4th District officers responded to a report of an electrocution at the location. Chavarria, a utility worker, was working in a bucket lift truck, and was electrocuted for reasons unknown at this time.
Baltimore Gas and Electric Company responded to the area to turn off the electricity. Chavarria, of Frederick, was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where an autopsy will be conducted to officially determine the cause and manner of death.
No foul play is suspected in this incident.”
