The City of Gaithersburg’s Transportation Committee previously identified the I-370 Bicycle Connection project as a key connection from West Deer Park Road to Industrial Drive. Gaithersburg has moved forward with soliciting consultant support for the project (solicitation indicates proposals will be due in the beginning part of August 2024).
Per Gaithersburg, “the path will connect Gaithersburg residents & neighborhoods to local business, mass transit opportunities, and provide a low stress connection to Montgomery County’s master planned bicycle network.”
Additionally, but unrelated to this project, new dedicated bus lanes that are a part of the Great Seneca Transit Network (GSTN) were painted last month in and around the Crown neighborhood in Gaithersburg. These will “provide frequent transit options, improving mobility and access to crucial jobs in the healthcare, biotech, and education sectors.” More on the bus lanes by MCDOT can be found here.
