Saturday marked the start of a return to the heat and humidity. The National Weather Service has shared that Excessive Heat Watches have been issued for Monday 11 AM-8 PM for much of the Shenandoah Valley & east of the Blue Ridge with heat indices of 105-110 degrees possible.
While Sunday will also be hot with a heat index of 105° possible, the Excessive Heat Watch is for Monday (as of 10:53pm on Saturday night). Tuesday is expected to be equally hot with Wednesday coming in just a few degrees lower. Showers are possible on Thursday as we cool down into the 80s for what looks like a few days.
The National Weather Service reminds everyone to:
• Never leave anyone (or pets) alone in a locked car
• Take frequent breaks from outdoor activities
• Stay hydrated with plenty of water
