10,000 Mini Polar Bears Will Be Dumped in the Pond This Year as Lone Oak and the Special Olympics MD Team Up to Host the Pint Size Polar Bear Plunge on July 20th

Lone Oak Farm Brewing Company is teaming up with Special Olympics Maryland to host the Pint Size Polar Bear Plunge on Saturday, July 20th from 12:00 to 5:00 pm as a 6-month kickoff to the 2025 MSP Polar Bear Plunge. The event raised $36,000 for Special Olympics Maryland last year.

The family-friendly event will allow you to experience inclusion on a fun-filled day of food, drinks, music from Special Olympics Maryland athletes, and two unique plunge experiences– Buy and enter pint size polar bears into the pond plunge for a chance to win prizes, and/or take the plunge yourself in a water-filled trough.

The Laytonsville Fire Department will be filling all the troughs, there will be a cornhole tournament along with other games, the DJ will be an athlete from the Special Olympics, and a large crane will drop 10,000 mini polar bears into the pound at 4:45pm. More info about both experiences below:
