“Dangerous Heat and Humidity”; Severe Weather Possible Today

“Dangerous heat and humidity will continue today along with the threat for showers and thunderstorms”, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Temperatures are expected to reach the mid to upper 90s today with the heat index once again in the 100s. Per the NWS, “Some storms may be severe, especially along and east of the Blue Ridge. A Flood Watch is in effect for the Baltimore-DC corridor for the potential for flash flooding later today.”

Temperatures will begin to cool down Thursday, with highs hovering around 90° and thunderstorms possible. Friday will be a little more pleasant with temperatures reaching the mid 80s and Saturday will see highs in the lower 80s, which will feel about 20° cooler than the last few days. Sunday and Monday will see a return to the upper 80s, but it should be at least a little bit until we see the type of heat we’ve had this past week.
