“Hottest Sandwich Shop” Award Winner Has Locations in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia

Restaurant industry professionals and their allies gathered Sunday night at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center for the 42nd Annual RAMMYS Awards Gala. Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington announced winners and a range of special distinctions, celebrating excellence in long-standing categories that range from individual professional honors to accolades celebrating culinary concepts and service. The “Hottest Sandwich Shop” award went to Colada Shop, which has locations in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.

Colada Shop was founded in 2016 by Daniella Senior. The Montgomery County location opened in Potomac’a Cabin John Village in 2021. In addition to sandwiches, like the Guava BBQ sandwich pictured above, the menu offers croquetas, empanadas, a wide variety of coffee, cocktails, and other treats.

Per the Colada Shop website, it’s a “lively spot where the colors are as vibrant as the flavors. Share in the Cuban way to start and end the day. At Colada Shop we bring people together by transporting them into a space where conversation is flowing, strong coffee is brewed, food & cocktails are made with the flare of Cuban flavor and life. Coladas and conversation go hand in hand. Reach for a cup. Stay for a snack. Order a drink. We are committed to providing quality products, excellent service, and unparalleled hospitality to our patrons.
