Update: Kris has been found and in a safe location. His family asks for privacy.
American University student Kris Emmanuel Estrada, 19, was reported missing and was last seen in Rockville, MD on Thursday, July 25th according to a flyer recently shared on social media (seen below).
One flyer stated that Estrada was last seen in person near Wagshal’s on New Mexico Avenue NW on Thursday, July 25 at 4:43 pm while a second flyer states that his last reported location was Rockville, Maryland, on Thursday, July 25 at 5:30pm.
According to the flyers, Estrada is 19 years old, 5’4, between 120-130 pounds, with brown eyes and dark brown hair. Per a post on Instagram by American University Senator-at-large Kaden Ouimet, Estrada shared that he would return by Thursday night, but has not been in contact since Thursday afternoon.
In an article on the American University student newspaper, The Eagle, the following was stated:
“Estrada’s friends are asking anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the AU Police Department at (202) 885-2527. SG also asked students to contact AUPD or other listed contacts with any information they may have.
Vice President of Student Affairs Raymond Ou and Assistant Vice President of University Police Service and Emergency Management Phil Morse said they are aware of “unconfirmed reports about a student potentially being missing.” Ou and Morse further added that AUPD and Student Affairs activated protocol according to the Missing Student Notification Policy “to collect information and determine the facts of the matter.”
