Sisters Sandwiches & Such to Open Third Location

Sisters Sandwiches & Such, known for its Olney location at 16834 Georgia Ave. that was started by Kim Carlson and Tammy Prestipino back in 2010, will be opening its third location this fall in Bethesda.

According to a report by Bethesda Magazine, Ajith Wellage, along with current co-owners Ravi Abeynayake and Ron Vogel, will be bringing the sandwich shop to 4520 East West Highway in the space that was previously home to Perfect Pita.

Abeynayake and Vogel took over Sisters from Carlson and Prestipino back in 2019. They opened a second location in Germantown at 20201 Century Blvd. Suite 150 in an office building down the street from Top Golf and Señor Tequila’s.

Sisters first location has become an Olney staple, housed in the historic Higgins Tavern– a trading post built in the early 1820s on the old Georgetown-to-Brookville Road. The restaurant has earned a 4.7 Google rating on over 125 reviews, as well as a 4.2 rating on over 260 reviews on Yelp.
