Three Maryland Burgers Included in “Outstanding Burgers to Try in D.C. Right Now“ List

While Maryland has various restaurants that offer amazing burgers, Eater DC had put together a list of “Outstanding Burgers to Try in D.C. Right Now” that includes three Maryland spots that are a little bit closer to the city. The other 17 are in the actual city, with no Virginia restaurants included on the list.

Joy By Seven Reasons (Chevy Chase): Joy by Seven Reasons opened at 5471 Wisconsin Ave, Chevy Chase, MD in late 2022, serving Latin cuisine, and has been a hit in the area. While we love the Colossal Short Rib Sandwich that come with black gloves to handle the sandwich, the burger makes Eater’s list’s one of the best in the area. Eater writes, “The order comes topped with white cheddar cheese, homemade pickles, dijon mustard, and pineapple-prunes mayo.”

SOKO Butcher (Takoma Park and Silver Spring): SOKO is the local favorite Takoma Park butcher shop and deli that has created our favorite cheesesteak/steak and cheese in the entire DMV. Now, the burger gets to shine from the spot that showcases locally sourced meats and has a commitment to sourcing from sustainable farms. SOKO recently opened its second location in the Solaire food hall in Silver Spring. Eater writes, “The smash burger places a house-blended, 21-day, dry-aged beef patty atop a potato bun with American cheese and mayo.”

The Salt Line (Bethesda): The Salt Line opened its Bethesda Row location last summer, taking over the location at 7284 Woodmont Ave. that was previously home to Greek restaurant Kapnos until 2018. While the menu features a selection of beloved New England favorites (including a fun oyster shooter), the burger received high praise with its inclusion on this list. Eater writes, “The Salt Line’s version involves two ground chuck patties, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, mayo, and a sesame bun.”

All 20 restaurants on the list can be found in Eater DC’s article, available here.
