Yelp, a popular crowd-sourced review website, has put together its “Top 100 Sushi Spots 2024” list. Included at #57 on the list is MoCo’s very own 168 Asian Burrito, which is located at 18000 Georgia Avenue within the Exxon convenience store in Olney.
While 168 Asian Burrito made it onto the sushi list, their menu doesn’t offer traditional sushi options. Instead, they offer “Asian burritos/rice bowls” along with Baos and a variety of sides. Most of the burritos and bowls contain ingredients often found in popular sushi rolls.
168 Asian Burrito has been open for almost five years. When owner Peter Chen (pictured above) saw that the spot in the Olney Exxon was available he jumped at the opportunity to open up shop . Peter has been a chef for over 25 years. He has worked in a couple different restaurants in the county and even had his own place just off the food court in Montgomery Mall, but he tells us that rent was too high for his business to remain profitable.
“I like Olney. The people are so nice and very friendly.” Chen told us. “Every day is a good day because of the people.” The people of Olney seem to like Peter too, as 168 Asian Burrito now has a 4.8 rating on Yelp with over 190 reviews. The full Yelp list can be found here.
