Montgomery County Police are investigating a fatal collision involving a riding lawn mower and vehicle that occurred this afternoon in Gaithersburg.
According to MCPD, “At approximately 1:13 p.m., Montgomery County Police 6th District and Gaithersburg Police officers, and Fire Rescue personnel, responded to the area of Great Seneca Hwy. and High Gables Dr., for the report of a collision involving a vehicle and the operator of a riding lawn mower.
Responding units located the 28-year-old male lawn mower operator unresponsive in the roadway. Life-saving measures were performed at the scene and the victim was transported to area hospital with serious injuries, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the striking vehicle, a black 2021 Genesis G70, remained at the scene. The Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating this collision. More information will be released when it becomes available, including the name of the deceased, following proper notification of next of kin.”
