The Northeast Conference (NEC) unveiled its women’s soccer weekly accolades where Howard University sophomore forward Mimi Richards (Silver Spring, Md.) took home the league’s Player of the Week award. Richards is a graduate of Einstein High School in Kensington.
According to Howard University, In Thursday’s (Aug. 15) season-opening victory over Saint Peter’s, Richards scored twice to propel HU to a 4-2 win over the Peacocks.
On the young season, she leads the NEC with four points. Rookie Hailey Ayers (Lorton, Va.) made the NEC Prime Performers list, along with Richards, after recording her first collegiate shutout in the tie at Hampton (Aug. 18).
