Cubano’s Permanently Closes After More Than 20 Years in Silver Spring; Bethesda Restaurant Remains Open

Cubano’s, a popular restaurant serving Cuban fare for over two decades, has closed its first location at 1201 Fidler Lane in Silver Spring permanently, according to a report by Source of the Spring.

The restaurant first opened its doors in Silver Spring back in 2001. In 2020, Cubano’s opened its Bethesda location, which remains open, in the space that was previously home to Louisiana Kitchen location at 4907 Cordell Ave.

The Silver Spring restaurant closed earlier this year, but the closure was listed as temporary on Google and a sign on the door stated that the restaurant would be closed for remodeling until July. Source of the Spring wrote that “the former Silver Spring location’s Instagram profile confirmed its closure via direct message.” The Instagram profile now states “CLOSED! WE ARE NOW IN BETHESDA!”

Cubano’s no longer lists the Silver Spring location on its website. The restaurant opened its Bethesda location just before the Covid shutdowns. Its current hours are Sunday-Thursday 12:00pm-9pm and Friday/Saturday 12:00pm-10pm.
