The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Heat Advisory in effect on Wednesday, August 28th from 1pm until 7pm.
During the times of the head advisory, heat index values of 105° to 109° are expected. As seen in the NWS map, Portions of DC, central, north central, northeast, and northern Maryland, and northern and northwest Virginia will all fall under Wednesday’s advisory.
Per the NWS, “Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.”
