Adi Yousef Najjar, a 65-year-old tutor from Germantown, was arrested and charged with sexual abuse of a minor and other sex offenses, with detectives urging potential additional victims to come forward after allegations of abuse between September 2022 and June 2024.
Per the news release: “65-year-old Adi Yousef Najjar, of Germantown has been arrested and charged with sexual abuse of a minor and fourth degree sex offenses. Detectives have released a photo of Najjar and are urging anyone who may be a victim of sexual abuse by Najjar to come forward.
On Tuesday, June 4, 2024, the Montgomery County Child Welfare Services and the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) began investigating Najjar following the report of a sexual abuse of a minor.
The alleged assaults occurred between September 2022 and June 2024, when Najjar was the victim’s Islamic tutor.
Najjar turned himself in to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit on Wednesday, August 27, 2024, and he was released on an unsecured personal bond.
