Chilling details have been released in a GoFundMe for 37-year-old Sifrido Villalobos of Silver Spring, MD, who died in a crash involving five vehicles the morning of August 29th in a crash on Southbound I-95, past MD-175 (Exit 41), near Jessup, MD (Howard County).
Last week, Maryland State Police said a man died at the scene of the crash was identified as Villalobos of Silver Spring. Another person in the crash was taken to the hospital for treatment. In the details of the GoFundMe fundraiser, it’s revealed that Villalobos called his wife following the initial crash to let her know the severity of his injuries:
“He immediately called his wife (Blanca) to tell her what had happened and that he knew he wouldn’t make it. He told her how much he loved her and his children. His wife implored him to exit the vehicle to which he responded “I can’t, my injuries are bad and my body is unresponsive.” It was then when a fifth car, a big truck, carrying a trailer struck him for the second time from the back and with his wife on the phone while repeating Psalm 93, his body could not resist and immediately passed.”
The full text from the GoFundMe can be seen below: “We come to you with heavy hearts to share the tragic passing of our beloved friend and brother in Christ, Sifrido Villalobos. Sifrido was a warm hearted and kind individual who had the ability to brighten anyone’s day. His smile and sense of humor were something that was always present wherever he was and we will forever remember him dearly.
On the early morning of August 29th, he suffered a tragic accident which sadly ended his life. On this day, he found himself on the I-95 in Howard County (Maryland) making his way home from a long night at work. During his drive, he found himself involved in the accident which involved 3 other vehicles (him being the fourth vehicle involved). Unfortunately so, that was not the end of it. Being unable to exit the vehicle due to the severity of his injuries, he immediately called his wife (Blanca) to tell her what had happened and that he knew he wouldn’t make it. He told her how much he loved her and his children. His wife implored him to exit the vehicle to which he responded ” I can’t, my injuries are bad and my body is unresponsive. It was then when a fifth car, a big truck, carrying a trailer struck him for the second time from the back and with his wife on the phone while repeating Psalm 93, his body could not resist and immediately passed.
Sifrido was the only casualty from this accident and he leaves behind a wife, his children and all of us, family and friends who are still in shock and in disbelief of this terrible loss.
We would like to humbly ask for your help to be able to cover funeral expenses and give Sifrido’s family some financial relief during this difficult time. With your help, we can allow his family to mourn this tragic loss without the desperation of having to figure out how to give his loved one a beautiful and worthy funeral service and burial.
Lastly but not least, if there is one thing we can find peace and joy in is that our beloved Sifrido was absolutely ready to meet the Lord. We can testify that in the months and weeks prior to his death, he found himself in the strongest relationship with Jesus and he even mentioned the day before that he was ready for whenever the Lord wanted to take him to His presence. The Sunday prior to the accident, he dance, sang and rejoiced himself in the presence of the Lord during the last church he attended. He was so happy and overcome with joy knowing that he was able to spend time with God and having being touched by the Holy Spirit.
Dear family, friends and beloved readers, we know that times are tough but really appreciate anything you can sow into this cause. We are forever grateful for your contribution.”
