Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza has closed permanently after nearly five years at 7776 Norfolk Ave in Bethesda.
The Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza website lists the store as permanently closed. The restaurant opened in January 2020, taking the space that was previously home to Community.
The chain started in Florida in 2002 and has since expanded with more than 50 restaurants throughout the northeast. It was initially owned by Anthony Bruno and backed by NFL Hall of Fame quarterback, Dan Marino, but was acquired by BurgerFi International in 2021. BurgerFi is currently facing Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, but has not closed any other Anthony’s locations we know of (59 restaurants in 8 states).
