‘Children’s Day’ Free Event Takes Place September 21 at Brookside Gardens

Montgomery Parks will host its annual
Children’s Day at Brookside Gardens on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The free event includes a variety of outdoor activity stations for children to learn about the science and art of gardening.

Continuing our commitment to providing diverse learning opportunities for our community, we are partnering with EcoLatinos and the American Public Gardens Association to provide bilingual Spanish activity stations that celebrate the importance of plants in our daily lives,” said Stephanie Oberle, director of Brookside Gardens.

Children’s Day features child-driven art projects and engaging science activities designed to educate and entertain. Examples of activities include stations where participants can: create plant mandalas, pot their own free plant to take home, learn about plant adaptations and explore some extreme examples, try a children’s yoga class, listen to live music, participate in a community science “BioBlitz,” and more.
